In the 20th instalment of the Namahn lectures series, Denis Javaux of Symbio argued that he design of a control room can positively or negatively impact safety and performance objectives. Javaux used real life examples of projects in a variety of domains to demonstrate how Symbio first apply functional design before embarking on any physical or architectural design.
The attentive audience also learned about the three tenets of successful control room design as practiced by Symbio... often violated by other designers.
You can find an account of the event on the lecture page.
