The Design Studio is a large, 92m² room intended for co-creation, knowledge sharing, design explorations and walkthroughs.

A multi-layered grid can be manipulated to enhance collaboration among disciplines, visualisation of concepts and competition between strong ideas.

Design is accelerated, becomes agile and informs the development of the service or the product, making good time to market.

The space:
  • is very comfortable for up to 15 people; can take 30 for short periods of time
  • is semi-private
  • has tools for tinkering, thinking and maybe thinkering readily availabe
  • is lit naturally and artificially (sun and fluorescent), direct and indirect, with easily configurable ceiling panels
  • has underfloor heating
  • has six large glass doors that open to the dance floor in clement weather

It is a symbolically layered space with:

  • a view to the shifting sky
  • stable and grey inner walls
  • a modular white skeleton
  • representations of ideas from those working in the space

58 reversible, interchangeable, multi-functional door panels: write on them like whiteboards, post notes – one side is even magnetic – on them, use them as table-tops, or let them block the view from the central space. Four enormous skylights, and full-height glass doors to the central space.

All panels can be turned into tables on trestles with two possible heights:

  • normal desk
  • standing desk (for real work ...)
